Busy week ahead?

gosh, i can't believe this, Im going to UP?

Dreamt of going there in highschool, not because it really was my dreamschool, but because it was my parents' dreamschool, and so was it. As a matter of fact, i never really had a dreamschool when i was in highschool... well actually, i think i did... I remember going to makati one time years ago and we passed by taft and there i saw la salle and i thought... wow... i think i wanna study here... but that time, it was just too impossible to study there knowing that our family got struck by a terrible financial crisis, but ohmigosh, it happened and then my first weeks there felt so surreal that i even kept repeating it to my newly found friends.

Anyway, enough of this. So busy week ahead i guess. gonna call the graduate studies on tues and inquire bout my admission slip, and if they said that the dean had already signed it, then im off to go... maybe il go pick up the necessary docs and whatever on wednesday then start enrolling on thursday, which by the way is quite a predicament for me.... in lasalle, everything was just so easy. The online enrollment that we thought to be quite a drag is i think now far from being like that compared to a manual enrollment thingy. so i guess, il start lining up now... hmmmm... then, i have no clue where to enroll and all the process and all that...im totally not familiar with the campus that huge and me not being street smart at all will worsen everything. guh! hope i cud do everything right.

and oh yeah, bday of mine ahead, still dont know what to do for my bday. will i treat friends or not? but i do want to treat hajie and yumi this sat, hope they'l be free.

Philosophizing :p

I love the road.

I don't know but it makes me feel safer when Im on the road travelling for hours and listening to my favorite songs. It's lovelier when you see green plains and rice fields.
It's sweeter when it rains.

Someday, Im going to buy my own car. Don't care what model as long as it functions well. I'l spend my weekends being on the road, just driving on the fastlane or on small streets, humming, daydreaming and being solemn.

Life just feels tranquil when I'm out there on the road. Wish it was always like that.

Félicitations King Roger

Mirka gave birth to twin girls! They named them Myla Rose and Charlene Riva. I think I prefer the latter. Anyway, I read this on facebook since I joined the RF group.

So........ are they the girl version of the Bryan brothers? Or, the next Williams sisters?

I wish for a Roland Garros movie :)

So I decided to give the Wimbledon movie a second chance last night.
I only watched it at youtube part by part after I finished While You Were Sleeping.

I say, not so lame at all :) nor nondescript.  *james mcavoy was fun to watch. cute!*

still! im no kirsten dunst fan! but she did a good portrayal of a bitchy tennis player.
and... there were cute scenes too and i must admit, i liked that night scene at the abandoned tennis court with that matching shooting star view.

Diego Luna is already a father?

The "Y Tu Mama Tambien" star is already a father... since last august 2008 pa! Im sooo way behind the news.

Here's an article from contactmusic.com

NEW DAD LUNA LOVES EARLY MORNING PLAYTIME

Fatherhood has turned Mexican star DIEGO LUNA into a happy early riser - because he can't wait to wake up and play with his kid.
The actor's son Jeronimo was born last summer (Aug09), but the Milk star still can't get enough of his kid.
He says, "I love waking up with him. It's the most beautiful thing ever. The morning was never so good. I used to hate mornings... I used to wear sunglasses. I started to function after 11 or 12.
"Now, at 5am, I'm playing with my kid and changing diapers. You become a different man."
And he became a really devoted husband to new bride Camila Sodi after he saw what she went through in the delivery room.
The unusually candid star tells Bust magazine, "I have to say I became more in love with her (Sodi) when I realised what a good mother she is.
"When you are there and see what they (women) go through, it's like, 'Whoa!'"

Oh! and he's married na pala. haha. so so late when it comes to headlines.

Btw, I dont like his new look. He looks so old.

Oh well, let's just reminisce the old days.

ooohhh. much better.

and this is the wifey, Camilla Sodi (who by the way is only 23 years old while Diego is around 30, and is the niece of Thalia). I think she's pretty. It seems like all Camillas are hot.

Quite a late post, but anyway, Congrats Juanqui, Congrats Espana!

I got a little worried, and irritated, mostly irritated when I brokenheartedly learned that Davis Cup wasnt televised in any cable channel!

ugh, loser cable and loser country! :P Fortunately loveisnothing, my twitter friend, was able to save me from this predicament by forwarding me a link to view the game live on the internet.
Third day was crucial for both Spain and Deutscheland. Spain was ahead by 2 wins while Deutscheland was behind by 1. Verdasco was to play to finally get Spain the Semis position, but devastatingly, he lost, perhaps due to lack of rest. Though I would say that it was quite a blessing in disguise coz if it werent for Verdasco's defeat, I wouldnt gotten the chance to see Juan Carlos Ferrero play, and heck, it was a crucial match that would decide the fate of the Spaniards.

Team Captain Costa was damn right to let Ferrero substitute  for Robredo.  to Yey! Victory!

Here's a blog post by Ferrero:

Para todos vosotros!

Hola a todos. Queria compartir estos momentos de felicidad con todos mis fans y agradeceros todo el apoyo y todos los emails recibidos durante este fin de semana. A short story i wrote in spanish

LOS ESPANOLES TO COLONIZE US AGAIN. ;P

It was my first day of level 8 today, and we all missed our former professor, Fernando. It’s quite funny to think that I used to be that laid back and naive intern who used to exploit his desk and PC without knowing it was his after all until one afternoon, my co-intern pointed him to me at a distance and informed me that he was the owner of the exploited PC that we used for friendster, livejournal, youtube, google translator, and multiply. Since those days he was my prof and until now, I am still wondering if he remembered me as that intern who kept bugging his desk and PC. What a disappointment though that he is to return to his home country these coming days, but I feel fortunate enough to have him as my professor, he was utterly good, funny and very animated. Not boring!

So I now move on to my main topic. Above is just a trivial introductory. Anyway, Mila is our new professor who informed us that Instituto has new stricter rules with regard to attendance; that by June, we are to change our (expensive) books with a new and universal version (which I speculate to cost even more expensive); that the AULA or the Virtual Internet blah blah is free at last; that President GMA was once a student of Instituto and is fluent in Spanish; that Insituto have had many students who are celebrities/politicians; and that they are to colonize us again through education. (What is not new though is that their library still contains that same old set of dvds. When are they planning to add new ones?!)

Anyway, based from what I’ve understood from Mila’s Spanish, there is this partnership between Spain and Philippines that Filipino children are to learn Spanish as a third language by June I think, and it is to be a program that would be beneficial to all and blah blah and blah blah… Well, at least I got the gist.  I just don’t know if this is applicable to higher levels or just kids. Well, I didn’t hear any about that, I wasn’t really listening.

It was not so long ago that this used to be the case, no wonder our parents know a little Spanish. But what do you reckon our forefathers and Rizal would say about this modern colonization or what I prefer to call a public diplomacy? I think Rizal would be pissed or maybe envious because we had this privilege of learning Spanish hassle free and less expensively. Just suck it up JP. Hehe.

As for me, I think I like the fact that they’re doing this, because of selfish reasons – I finally will have a future sideline that pays quite a lucrative compensation. Tutoring kids can be quite an easy and well-paying sideline someday. Yey.

The cons for me:

More will be capable to understand Spanish. I just like the feeling of knowing a language that is not common to most of the people here because in that case, I can use it for private matters and it makes me feel quite unique; but if people will learn it, Spanish will just turn out to be overrated, common, ordinary and mainstream. But I am liking the idea that we will have the opportunity to practice the language if many are to speak it.

And…

More Dora the Explorer. I never liked Dora the Explorer. Bad experience with it. I couldn’t watch tv before otherwise my baby brother would start protesting and wailing.

Klutzeeeee. I accidentally dipped the side of my pillow onto the salsa con queso. Nachos is not a friendly midnight snack.
