Montreal, QC - Eugène Lapierre, Vice-President of Professional Tennis in Quebec and Tournament Director of the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank, announced Wednesday that Australia’s Lleyton Hewitt, ranked no. 42 on the South African Airways 2009 ATP rankings, has been given a wildcard to compete in this summer’s tournament, which gets underway in less than a month.
Fatherhood has turned Mexican star DIEGO LUNA into a happy early riser - because he can't wait to wake up and play with his kid.
The actor's son Jeronimo was born last summer (Aug09), but the Milk star still can't get enough of his kid.
He says, "I love waking up with him. It's the most beautiful thing ever. The morning was never so good. I used to hate mornings... I used to wear sunglasses. I started to function after 11 or 12.
"Now, at 5am, I'm playing with my kid and changing diapers. You become a different man."
And he became a really devoted husband to new bride Camila Sodi after he saw what she went through in the delivery room.
The unusually candid star tells Bust magazine, "I have to say I became more in love with her (Sodi) when I realised what a good mother she is.
"When you are there and see what they (women) go through, it's like, 'Whoa!'"
Oh! and he's married na pala. haha. so so late when it comes to headlines.
Btw, I dont like his new look. He looks so old.
Oh well, let's just reminisce the old days.

ooohhh. much better.
and this is the wifey, Camilla Sodi (who by the way is only 23 years old while Diego is around 30, and is the niece of Thalia). I think she's pretty. It seems like all Camillas are hot.

It was my first day of level 8 today, and we all missed our former professor, Fernando. It’s quite funny to think that I used to be that laid back and naive intern who used to exploit his desk and PC without knowing it was his after all until one afternoon, my co-intern pointed him to me at a distance and informed me that he was the owner of the exploited PC that we used for friendster, livejournal, youtube, google translator, and multiply. Since those days he was my prof and until now, I am still wondering if he remembered me as that intern who kept bugging his desk and PC. What a disappointment though that he is to return to his home country these coming days, but I feel fortunate enough to have him as my professor, he was utterly good, funny and very animated. Not boring!
So I now move on to my main topic. Above is just a trivial introductory. Anyway, Mila is our new professor who informed us that Instituto has new stricter rules with regard to attendance; that by June, we are to change our (expensive) books with a new and universal version (which I speculate to cost even more expensive); that the AULA or the Virtual Internet blah blah is free at last; that President GMA was once a student of Instituto and is fluent in Spanish; that Insituto have had many students who are celebrities/politicians; and that they are to colonize us again through education. (What is not new though is that their library still contains that same old set of dvds. When are they planning to add new ones?!)
Anyway, based from what I’ve understood from Mila’s Spanish, there is this partnership between Spain and Philippines that Filipino children are to learn Spanish as a third language by June I think, and it is to be a program that would be beneficial to all and blah blah and blah blah… Well, at least I got the gist. I just don’t know if this is applicable to higher levels or just kids. Well, I didn’t hear any about that, I wasn’t really listening.
It was not so long ago that this used to be the case, no wonder our parents know a little Spanish. But what do you reckon our forefathers and Rizal would say about this modern colonization or what I prefer to call a public diplomacy? I think Rizal would be pissed or maybe envious because we had this privilege of learning Spanish hassle free and less expensively. Just suck it up JP. Hehe.
As for me, I think I like the fact that they’re doing this, because of selfish reasons – I finally will have a future sideline that pays quite a lucrative compensation. Tutoring kids can be quite an easy and well-paying sideline someday. Yey.
The cons for me:
More will be capable to understand Spanish. I just like the feeling of knowing a language that is not common to most of the people here because in that case, I can use it for private matters and it makes me feel quite unique; but if people will learn it, Spanish will just turn out to be overrated, common, ordinary and mainstream. But I am liking the idea that we will have the opportunity to practice the language if many are to speak it.
And…
More Dora the Explorer. I never liked Dora the Explorer. Bad experience with it. I couldn’t watch tv before otherwise my baby brother would start protesting and wailing.
Klutzeeeee. I accidentally dipped the side of my pillow onto the salsa con queso. Nachos is not a friendly midnight snack.
